Singapore

We've arrived and all the hassles of the past 2 days is now a distant memory. Our huge Airbus left on time and we had a very comfortable night flight. The meals were good, the stewardesses very attentive and we arrived 15 minutes early. Thank you, Singapore Airlines.

We were met at (a very big, but very quiet) Changi Atirport by our driver from Tour East and whisked off to the Fairmont Hotel. On the way in he gave us a potted history of Singapore and some survival tips.

After 2 days on the road it was a scruffy looking couple who were greeted by doormen, porters and receptionists in full 5 star livery but I am sure they could see the quality hiding under the scruffy rucsacks and stubble.

Our room is huge and comfortable. After unpacking, showering and changing we headed out to look at Singapore. 30 degree temperatures, 24 hour shopping and eating - very nice. Tapas and drinks went down very well and we're feeling good.

But no day is ever done until it is logged on Facebook ...
