Marvellous breakfast on the 8th floor roof terrace. Kerstin resisted the urge to swim in the adjacent pool. Next came our half day tour of Singapore with Tour East. A comfortable coach and an informative guide made for an interesting trip, although some of the 20 minute stops could be improved upon. The reclaimed land of Marina Bay with its Merlion was first up, then a drive through Chinatown and a visit to Thiang Hock Keng Temple. Next came a semi-precious stone workshop and the inevitable showroom. The National Orchid Garden, part of Singapore Botanic Gardens, was the best bit of the tour, a mass of scent and colour; we could have done with more than our allocated 30 minutes. The tour drops us off back at the hotel which was handy.
We managed some lunch and some shopping in the mall before jet lag got the better of Kerstin back at the hotel. I hope she wakes before our safari dinner this evening!
