Whilst all the energetic people in the group set off on their bike ride, Judith and I walked into town for some sight seeing and retail therapy. Neither of us fancied the bike ride in this hot and humid weather, although looking at the photos Mike had taken, the beach looked lovely and offered the shade both of us had feared might be absent after the ride. However we got ourselves a booklet of tickets and proceeded through the busy streets in order to find the pagodas and other interesting old houses worth visiting.
We managed to spend quite a few more dong too, Judith being a fierce competitor in who could spend most in the shortest time. We are also both getting very good at bartering! The changing room offered for trying things on was simple but very effective! The only problem we are starting to have is wondering where to put all this stuff, when luggage is already bursting at the seams. I doubt if that will stop us though! Now where did we see them selling bags......
Strolling back towards the hotel, we stopped for some of the famous Pho soup for lunch at a nice restaurant by the river.
This afternoon I collected my blouse that had been made for me. The other girls in the group were all in the changing rooms when I got in for my final fitting, having ordered several dresses and coats which they paraded in front of each other and other people in the shop, all very delighted with their purchases.
